Hello,
I need some advice on website hosting (I think)
LAst year I started up a website, bought my domain from GoDaddy along with their website builder package which I thought was just the software you needed to design/build the site.
My domain renewal came up this year which I did but since the web builder package was another £70 on top I thought I would leave it as I hadn't got far with populating the site and am currently between homes so don;t really have the time or access to crack on with it.
On Friday I noticed that my website was not working (404 message) so I rang GoDaddya and was advised that since I hadn't renewed the web builder thingy it wouldn't work as that included the hosting (?) as well.
So my question is, are the any other options tat are cheaper than GoDaddy that will allow me to host and build my website easily and cheaper than £70?

That's a bit naughty of them isn't it !!
So they are removing the site that was built with their website builder because you wont pay to renew ?
That's terrible !!
Look at 1and1 for your hosting and use separate software to build your site

I think that it is written in the terms for "site builder" software with most companies that you can only use it while you're paying for it, even though it's just plain HTML which you could easily backup and restore somewhere else.0

I've been with a free hosting company for a few months, and I've found the service to be very good. (My old free hosting had regular down-time, but these new ones seem to be very reliable).

I'm a Web Designer, so I don't use their website builder tools, but they do have them, and they are also free.
There are no ads or banners. There is a branded 404 page, but you could probably override that, if you wanted to. I've not been deluged with emails about upgrading, either.
Overall, I've been quite impressed with them.0 -
First rule stay away from godaddy for website hosting yes you can host you website for lest than 70GBP with much better web hosting provider have you check Rshosting.com .0

I thought the same thing but both the apparent newbie spammers have made other non-spam posts. Not many, I admit.
When I was in the same position as the OP earlier this year, I found that Falcoda offered the best price/service balance for low users. At least the best I could find.0 -
I would:
1) Host with WebHostingBuzz. £30 per year, but there is a code on UKBusinessForums somewhere for half price for first year(think it is UKBF). Great service and fast support.
2) Install Wordpress and then buy a nice theme from Themeforest.
3) Get a gig from Fiverr to set up up with your favourite style in the template https://uk.fiverr.com/couthymedias/setup-your-themeforest-theme-as-demo?
Done-cheap as chips, you will have a beautiful website ready to go based on the biggest website platform in the world.0 -
Falcoda cost me £43 for three years.0

I'm quite late to the party but fancied throwing my two cents in anyway
I'd recommend WebHostingBuzz UK or Namecheap to be honest. They are two of the best that I've come across over the past few years. You can usually find some good hosting coupons for both of them as well.Just Keep Swimming!0
