Exchange Rates quoted at TravelMoneyMax

TravelMoneymax.com quotes Halifax exchange rates of for example 2.007 AUD using Halifax Clarity Card and yet Halifax web site quotes 1.87 AUD, Where does TravelMoneyMax get the rates from. Same for Euros too

The Halifax Clarity Card uses the Mastercard exchange rate so they get it from here; https://www.mastercard.com/global/currencyconversion/index.html

Thanks for this at least I know where it comes from, but isn't MSE misleading people as there is no way Halifax are giving 2.007 (in fact they are only giving 1.87)

No, I don't think MSE is misleading in this case.

The Halifax Clarity Credit Card will give you that rate quote (2.007AUS$) for transactions posted on that day.

The lower rates for Halifax's travel money service are also listed separately, way down the page as they're so uncompetitive.

These are 2 different rates for 2 different services - the rate you get using a specific credit card from Halifax overseas and the rate you get using their travel money service for cash before you go. Don't see what's misleading about that - it clearly says 'Top specialist credit card'.

It's not misleading, I think you may be misunderstanding.

If you spend or withdraw cash from an ATM on your Halifax Clarity card in Australia you will get the Mastercard Exchange rate, which on Friday was 2.007078 AUD to the £.

I think you're looking at buying foreign currency from Halifax? In which case that's where you're getting lower rate of 1.87...
