FOS decision can be wrong. FOS are not the final arbiter of this. The courts are. They would not uphold the behaviour you talk about.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

On a different matter (Ar) I was told an ombudsman decision is final and could not be over turned by any one. Would you be looking at mega costs to go to court0

One thing that can be worthwhile is to ensure you save a copy of your credit file showing the default dates on it.
Then in the unlikely event a debt collector tries to add a later dated default its that bit easier to prove that the entry is incorrect/has been changed.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -

So is this what normally happens to defaulted accounts after the 6 years as others on here tell me differently the account should have gone from my credit files0 -

If an account is defaulted it would be gone after 6 years from date of default, however you say the account isn't defaulted as you got the default removed so there is no date of default, So it stays until its paid off0 -

No they haven't, IF the account was defaulted in sept 2002 then the account should be gone from your file, they cant just keep changing the default date0
