Persistan "Sign in to Google" pest

Right, ive got an old NTL a/c which i use for e-mails,I also have a G.Mail a/c which I dont use but on my 2 android devices, im persistantly being asked to "Log in to my Google a/c" which I dont want, but even if I do I get "incorrect password" (it isnt) or "Invalid request" driving me nuts, how can I correct this? thanks.

you need to be logged in to a google account on your android device in order to download apps etc from the google play store.
Your device is most likely trying to update some of the stock software on it and cant because it cant sync with an account.
Just give it a password and it will go away, you don't have to use it as an email address.
If youd rather not, then just pull down the menu from the top, and turn off the "sync" feature.
Then it shouldn't prompt you anymore - but youll have a pretty crap experience on your device.
