Hi guys,
Just after a bit of advice. I have an ISA account with Fidelity and I hold a few funds there but I would like to buy some shares as well. I have done a bit of research and thinking with either opening an account with ii or AJ Bell. Are these companies OK for share dealing?
Also would there be an issue opening another sotck and shares ISA since I already have one with Fidelity? I will make sure I'll invest less than the ISA allowance.
Also I was thinking of buy some BT, Lloyds and Sainsburys shares. What are your thoughts on this?
Thanks

You can have more than one stocks and shares ISA if you like, but what you can't do is subscribe to (ie pay fresh money into) more than one S&S ISA in the same tax year.
If you haven't paid into the Fidelity ISA since April then opening a new one is not a problem - though things will get complicated if you want to subscribe more to the Fidelity ISA later this year.
If you have already subscribed to the Fidelity one this year then you can still open a new one but you can't pay fresh ISA money into it, you can only transfer in a previous year's ISA subscriptions - either from a cash ISA or some of the money you subscribed to your Fidelity ISA last year.0 -
Ok thanks for clearing that up
I've already paid money in to the Fidelity one this year so I guess I can't open another stock and shares ISA. I might just open a normal share dealing account.
What do you think of ii or AJ bell as a share dealing platform? And would you buy those shares I mentioned?0 -
For those shares you listed I'd be checking out using x-o to keep costs down.0

You should be able to move some money by doing a proper ISA transfer. Although this can take a long time, not all providers will agree to partial transfers, and there might be charges involved.0
