Only cheesecake I ever made was this one:

I reduced the ingredients by a third as I had a smaller tin. I also left the oven on for 30 minutes longer as I was paranoid it was a sloppy mess. I then left it to cool in the oven for the two hours. Was the best cheesecake I've ever eaten.

This no bake Oreo cheescake is to die for (I make it with whipped cream, not cool whip, because yuck).

The proportions of cream cheese to cream make a cheesecake that just holds its shape, and would work well with other flavours such as chopped ginger or lemon zest and fresh berries.

You can strain the creamcheese through muslin to get rid of excess liquid - the cheaper stuff tends to be a bit wet.

This looks gorgeous and I want to try it ( especially as Morrisons have half price Oreos this week) Can you help with 2 questions :
    1. Looks to need about 45 oreos - is that more than 1 pack?
    2. What size od cream would equate to 8oz of cool whip/
    Thanks

May I ask where you bought that yogurt? Thanks!

They sell it in Sainsbury's. It's in with the paneer and lassi.

Having said that I live nearby a v big Sainsbury's, not all branches will stock it. Makes lovely smoothies and doesn't taste at all sour.

At £2 it is better value to buy one of these if you are visiting Tesco and really want cheesecake :)

My last lot of (mini) cheesecakes, I grabbed Sainsbury's basic/value soft cheese. Everyone loved them, didn't notice a negative difference in taste from Philidelphia

I usually fill my no-bake cheesecakes with 300g full fat cream cheese and 500g greek yogurt. It was one of those experiments that actually turned out really well. Takes a couple of days in the fridge to set, but it does set well and has a nice taste and texture. Sometimes I make it plain and cover with some fruit-sugar stuff I've made (low sugar jam really), other times I mix in the juice and zest of one or two lemons with some sugar and have lemon cheesecake.

Never made a baked cheesecake though, but this thread has convinced me to try.
