Quickest way to get a utility or council tax bill when moving house?

Hello everyone.
Apologies if this is the wrong forum to post such a thread, but I couldn't find a better one to post my question. Feel free to move it to the relevant forum if necessary.
I have a question about utility bills and council tax bills when moving house.
I am a first time buyer, and never had a utility or council tax bill in my name before as I mostly lived with my parents. Currently I'm buying a house for my self. My question is once I move to the new house, what is the quickest way I could get a utility or a council tax bill in my name? Is there a way for example I could call my electricity supplier or my council and ask them to provide me with a bill in my name within a week?
Thanks

They may open an account in your name within a week but how do you expect a utility company to send you a bill within a week when you have only just moved in.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.

Would they be able to send a letter detailing my account with my name and address on it? Not necessarily a bill.0

Once you sign up, yu may be able to access your account details on line....make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
When I signed up for my gas/electric, I immediately switched off standard tariff. As I'd rung them a few days after I moved in, I got a bill for about a week's estimated use within a few days.0

What do you actually need this for though? You can easily move the address on your driving licence or with the bank and request a statement for easy proof of address. If it's unmetered, water will be billed in advance so one should be generated as soon as you provide your details.
Getting proof of address isn't a particularly difficult thing in general. Why do you NEED it within a week of moving?0 -

I'm still unsure why the OP is so concerned about getting a quick bill.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.

I need the bill for my wife's visa application as a prove that I'm living in the accommodation details provided in the application. We want to complete the application as soon as I move in the house, therefore I wanted to know if there is a quick way of getting a utility bill to provide with the application.

May I ask which supplier you signed up with?

You'll probably get a council tax bill quicker than a utility bill.
(Honestly, you probably don't want a utility bill - monthly DD is usually cheapest option, and then you will get statements instead)
Either way, you are probably looking about a month rather than a week ... maybe longer depending on the supplier/council.
All you can do is let the appropriate organisation know asap; hopefully your solicitor will instruct the council, but no harm in you doing so too as soon as you complete.
You cannot dictate when they issue their bills - they will do so in their own time.0 -
