3000 to save

Hello

This is my first post so I hope I am in the right area and following all guidelines. I have got a job abroad for 1 year, and will have 3000 or so just lying in my bank account while away. I don't want to touch the 3000, and was wondering what is the best deal for saving.

With the hassle of moving abroad etc I am not sure if I can meet all the " 1000 minimum pay-ins" per month etc. Is there anything in particular i could do to maximize interest or returns?

Thank you for reading.:j

£1,500 in a TSB Plus, £1,500 in a Nationwide FlexDirect; set up a standing order of £1,000 from one to the other, and then back again on the same day, for the middle of each month, every month.

    5%. Sorted.

And don't forget to set TSB to paperless statements and correspondence ;)

whatttttt - can I do that ? hahahaa. Is that legal?

    Also does that mean

    Bank A and Bank B
    Bank A 1500 - Bank B 1500
    1. 1000 from bank A to bank B and then 1000 from bank B to bank A.

Or does it have to be done twice for the 2 standing orders?

Thank you for the reply. The middle of the month thing is so that the interest doesn't fall yes?

No Standing orders, or direct debits, are required to meet any conditions of the accounts.

You require one SO in each direction to automate the required payments. (Some others use Faster Payments manually.)
