Credit Reports a joke

I just had a look at my credit report, I do so every so often to check against fraud.


I noticed my score had gone down. The reason- opened new bank account (without OD as don't need it) and changed mobile phone providers. No extra credit made available to me, no extra spending but it has gone down by quite a lot.


Makes you wonder how their system works. Good job am not about to use it to apply for more credit any where.

Multiple searches and new accounts 'might' have a temporary adverse effect with some lenders, but that's about it.

The credit score that Experian gives you is just a guide - it is not the random number some people here will tell you but it is only seen by you - no other lenders have access to it. A lot of things affect what different lenders regard your 'score' as being being, but each is unique to that lender. You really do not need to be concerned. You just need to understand that if you are applying for another credit product shortly, the recent search sonf lie may have an impact.
