I recently installed an SSD and moved upto win 7 64 bit, Trying to create a virtual machine from my old drive but it keeps failing without any errors to track why it fails.
I did wonder if its because my current setup is a RAID one?
Anyone created a VM from their current drive/OS?
I have a ton of software on here that was free but now they charge for it.

VMware gives you an option to copy a physical machine to virtual (P2V).
In Fusion on a Mac it's "Migrate your PC"; I don't have a Windows machine on at the moment.
I've not done it, but I think the way it works is that you need the PC being migrated up and running.
Therefore, I would suggest you try booting your machine from its old disk, installing your virtualization software on that, and then running the clone/migrate.0
