A few days ago, I was taking a look at my Sony Bravia, and I noticed it had a PCI Express Card Slot slot, and i've been wondering, why?

Are you sure it isn't a Top-Up TV Cam slot, they are the same as a cam slot on a laptop.;)0

Are you sure it is not a Common Interface (CI) slot for accessing digital subscription channels?0

It has one of those plastic things inside which you can eject, and on it it says "PC Card"0

According to the Sony website it's a PCMCIA Card Slot. Doesn't say what it's for though0

I have a Panasonic, but it has the same slot so I guess it does the same on your tele?
Mine allows me to a)Insert card from a digital camera to view photos on screen b)Insert a card and record TV - like a mini DVD recorder.
When there is nout on tele, you could read the manual?"A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Thanks, i'm looking at PCMCIA on Amazon and found some ones for Wifi, does this mean I can somehow connect my tv to my router?0 -
It is as described at posts 2 and 3, a cam slot, it is there so that you can use a cam to take a card to receive paid for channels on Freeview, originally Top Up TV and more recently Setanta, it has nothing to do with Wifi.
It is a similar type of cam slot that is used on a laptop, but that is where the similarity ends.
Well that is what the one on my JVC TV is used for, so I am fairly certain they are all the same.0 -
Seems like it this is not the same as the slot on mine."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi
