Unwanted iTunes giftcard

Hi everybody.

I wasnt sure where to put this but thought it would be OK here...

My sister in law has very generously given me £50 in iTunes on a giftcard. However, and I dont want to sound like an ungrateful so-in-so, but I dont use iTunes and find their technology quite restrictive.

Im wandering how easy it would be to go to a supermarket/store and do a straight swap for giftcard I would find useful. Unfortunately, I dont have an accompanying receipt and she has written a dedication on the cardboard packaging PLUS she does not know that I plan to do this.

What do you guys think? Am I a wickedly ingrate, or should I just tell her?

Thanks in advance, Luke.

Well you can't take it to a store and do a swap as you front have a receipt. Do you know anyone who you could sell it too ?

Or just tell her the truth.
  • Have you got any mates who can you can do a swap with? You give them the itunes voucher and they give you the £50.

You will be able to sell it on ebay for close to its value.

What is the going rate for a sister-in-law? OK I'll get me hat 'n coat
  • Thanks everyone... I think the ebay idea is great; I would be happy to receive £45 for the giftcard.

Personally I would try another platform to sell, perhaps Facebook or local ads where you can be given cash.

If you sell on Ebay ensure you follow rules regarding seller protection and if you post the item make sure it is covered against loss.
