I will send them another letter explaining this but I will not hold my breath.
Tom,
I did my best to resolve the issue, I work 9-5 all week so calling them was a big issue, I used as many opportunities to call them that I could. They a notoriously difficult to get anything resolved.
I can understand your point that you say its surely not the landlords fault but who is at fault if the engineers did not inspect the boiler correctly? from the manner of at least 2 of them they didn't really seem like they cared. it should not take 4 separate engineers to diagnose a problem.
Why could you not phone another time leaving messages on the answering machine? sorry but the 3-5 occasions you chased over 5 months i just dont believe if it was that big a deal you couldn't make time to sort it out. At worst you could have written letters.
As for hot water you likely have a kettle or a means of boiling water on the cooker? not ideal obviously.
Now do you have a shower and is it electric or does it require the boiler to be working? if the hot water needed to come from the boiler i would understand a bit more. When using the housing forum please use the sticky threads for valuable information.0 -
Personally i would just drop it and get on with your lives, as you have a baby to look forward to.
Yes it was annoying, but the council DID send someone, albeit they were unable to find the fault. What part was replaced in the end? Perhaps it was something tricky to diagnose?
I spent a whole winter with a newborn and a dodgy boiler, but life goes on...Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -

Same for the majority of the population. In resolving any number of day to day problems. If something is serious enough then book time off work.0 -
I'm at a loss to understand why you think the council owes you anything. They sent engineers out promptly each time you complained. If you owned your own property and called the engineers yourself under a service plan, you would not count as a priority either.0
