HI guys since joining MSE I have sorted out a reg savings plan where I have a 20% of my fund, a rainy day fun paying in 90 a month along with a holiday fund and a fund where I put in a lil each month to play poker events in 2016.
All in all im still left with a disposable amount of £266 after rent and bills are paid.
what I really wanna do is invest some of it into a stocks and shares fund etc Im not going to buy the shares myself pretty much its a fund I pay into and can be tailored to my risk level im thinking of putting in say £100 a month into this type of fund but taking the biggest risk investments and doing this for around 3 years could anyone give me some advice.
Also what THINKING of buying cold boullion or coins maybe one or 2 a month depending what i can afford and get as this would be a pretty safe physical investment no and would also be pretty cool.
I guess what im saying is im prepared to take some risks with my bit of extra funds

I'd be less exciting and look to top up my pension contributions.0

3 years is not long enough for S&S if your aim is not to lose money. But if you are planning to hold for the longer term after those 3 years, then something like Vanguard Lifestrategy or L&G Multi Index might be worth a look. You would just need to choose a suitable risk level.
You could look at something like P2P, e.g. with Ratesetter where you could get 5.8% before tax on the 3 year market, or 6.6% on the 5 year market at the moment.
Gold is a bit speculative and it is usually best not to let it form a very significant % of your wealth.0 -

There is nothing safe in gold - starting from where you'd physically store it to whether anybody would give you money or goods for it when you come to selling.0 -
Yea the gold investment tbh is just to look at it will never be a huge amount.
Regarding the S+S idea I have no min term I just want something with a decent risk level that I can put into each month knowing it could go south what would some suggest a resonable amount monthly to put into a fund?Sealed Pot Challenge 10 - #5710
