Mini display port on a Dell XPS13

Anyone have problems with the sound output from the mini display port on a Dell XPS 13 using an HDMI adapter.

Mine is very inconsistent, so much so that I suspect poor quality connections but once it doesn't work I can't get it to work by jiggling the connections.

The Dell forum doesn't really help with a solution and I can't find anywhere where Dell addresses the problem which imo is very poor on the part of Dell..

I haven't used mini displayport on the XPS 13 but I'm sure I've seen a couple of threads on the Dell forums with people having issues with the mini displayport output being inconsistent.

Thanks. So much on that Notebook forum to trawl through and the 'search' doesn't narrow things down.

The Dellforums don't give answers which work just what appears to work for someone but no one else.

It really irks me that Dell haven't stepped in with a solution.
