Hi
We have a fairly cheap TV in the bedroom (Bush) and sometimes the reception on certain channels is bad. Hubby was trying to watch the darts on ITV on Friday and the picture was useless so he gave up, He tried again last night and the picture was near perfect for about an hour then it started to play up again so he turned it over. About an hour later he turned it back and it was near perfect again. Neither of us are technically minded so wondered if a TV/aerial booster would help.
Other channels do this at times too.
Any help appreciated. The other televisions are fine.

Thank you for the reply macman, sorry for the delay in getting back.
It's an outdoor aerial attached to a chimney pot. There are 4 televisions working from it. It was put up about 6 years ago. Not sure if that's enough info so I'm putting a picture here as well.
Sorry it's come out sideways, I did turn it around on photobucket but it hasn't worked lol.0 -
Unless you are using an amplifier every time you connect another TV to the same aerial you are reducing the signal strength, as the TV is the one in the bedroom it probably has the weakest signal, you need one of these :-

Thank you cajef, the bedroom is downstairs, I get a better picture on the television upstairs in my craftroom. Would I need one with so many aerial sockets? There won't be anything more to plug in. Sorry I'm so bad at this sort of stuff.0

Does the TV with the bad picture get a better picture connected to another aerial socket? If so, the problem is almost certainly the aerial feed to the bedroom.
We recently had our 3 aerials (which had been on the house for many years) replaced with a single one when we wanted a fourth feed to another room. The installer told me a single aerial and splitter could feed 3 rooms, but would struggle with 4. He may have just been selling us more than we needed, but we ended up with a masthead amplifier and 4 TV aerial sockets which all work fine from a single aerial.
Not an easy solution to fit yourself, but it works for us, and we were paying to have a new aerial fitted anyway.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards.
