Having statement sent somewhere else?

Are there any banks who will send you a postal statement to a different address than your registered address?

e.g. if you are abroad and need an actual bank statement to evidence something/proof of ID etc.

I think you will find it difficult. Money laundering regulations means it's very difficult for financial institutions to be accommodating - as in accommodation address!

I have my Lloyds letters sent to a correspondence address although my residential address is also held by them. When we moved here I was nervous about having no letter box through the front door and the mail being delivered to a box in the barn! As it turns out the system is fine so my worries are naught.

I suppose I should change it back but as the account is paperless it's very few letters which are sent now.

It wasn't difficult, however I suspect if you are abroad it may be more of a problem, don't know though.

PS in edit - the correspondence address is that of a relative who we stayed with whilst the house was being renovated, not just a random place. When we moved in the residential address was changed but we kept the ciorrespondence address.

Most banks will allow for a correspondence address; examples for this are students. Whether they'd send a statement to a non-registered address - especially an overseas address would seem unlikely. Best checking with your bank.

If they don't get a friend or family member to post it over.

Do you need a paper statement or would an online one do?

Many banks will allow you to register an address in any EU country. Although I doubt you would be able to use a statement from a UK bank as proof of your non-UK address.

They will probably do this provided you can demonstrate you are connected to it. It may create a link to the new address at the credit agencies though, so be careful.
