O/S Daily Saturday 30th May 2015
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine

Morning everyone
Beautiful blue sky and sun shining here, still breezy and air feels cold, hopefully it'll warm up later.
DH, DS1 and DS2 still all snoring their heads off. I'm enjoying peaceful cuppas whilst on here.
Dinner last night was sweet and sour chicken stir fry with mushroom chow mein, was lovely but I made the sauce a bit too sweet but all eaten. Dinner tonight will be chicken and ham kievs, chips and beans for the menfolk, I'll have fishcake, jacket potato and veg.
Yesterday I was reasonably productive, went to town to visit the bank, then on to meet DH and DS2 then went to work with him for the day. I went food shopping, and the heavens opened whilst I was shopping and I'd not took my coat, so got completely soaked going from the store to the car. I got all the shopping put away and whilst I was doing that the post arrived and I had some vouchers arrive from MrT also with a leaflet regarding their Summer Boost promotion - had a quick look, and decided to go to the store, got to the store picked what I wanted went to Customer Services and got the vouchers changed up, had a couple of non promotional items too, went through the Till and with the vouchers taken off it cost me a grand total of £1.38. I can't work out how they came to this figure because I bought dish washer tablets that were on offer but a big pack £10, mouthwash £3.20 and golden syrup £1.18 - also got my sun cream and that was on offer and included in the promo. The only vouchers I used were the boost one's they were for certain depts only - not complaining though, and I still have loads left, so will be going back and getting DH some clothes for hols as they are included. Really pleased with what I got - result!
Today we have loads to do - namely putting stuff back in the caravan - we took loads out that we wouldn't use last weekend, but we'll need it next weekend. We also need to visit the caravan repairs/accessories shop, we need to organise more gas, some chemicals, and our small table is broken so need another. We also need to go to B&Q to get some more strimmer cable, we have a few jobs to do in the garden and stuff to sort out in the loft - we need to do that over this weekend as the Yard Sale is in 2 weeks and we're away next weekend.
Have a great weekend x
Keep safe and well x

Morning all
Fish fed, hubby has a cuppa, washing on the line & 2nd load in the machine, /////dw on & decks have been cleared so baby DGD can play safely on the floor.
I need to pop out to my nearest T'sco's I've ordered new duvets & bedding & I can collect part today & part tomorrow. I'm fed up with having my sleep disturbed by getting over heated. I've ordered a 4 tog single quilt for me & a 10 tog for hubby along with new bedding. I don't feel too bad about it as our current duvet is 10 years old & the bedding was all bought from CS about 10 years go so must be even older.
Have a good day everyone.

Morning :hello:
candlelight Thanks for letting us know about JackieO xx
Two of the broody chickens aren't, they've started laying again but are pretending to get upset when I move them. They're just being lazy and want to spend their days in a comfy nesting box
The rain started just after I'd posted yesterday, so no weeding was done. It was really dark by 9.30am, I had to put the lights on. The rain was torrential for a while, the gutters couldn't cope and were overflowing. It eased off during the day and by teatime it was sunny with blue skies. Trouble is, the rain has made the weeds shoot up overnight. How? And why doesn't veg grow that fast? lol
We replaced all the tyres on the car then went to B&M and The Range. I have a blind for the hall window, it needs trimming down so I'll get that done today. I bought Scampi a new bed, it came with a free rope toy. I bet that it would last ten minutes – I was wrong, it lasted 25 minutesAlso bought him a hard rubber ball to make do til I buy the really strong ones, it already has gouges all over it and bits missing

Scampi has really settled down this week, he even saw a cat on his way back from his walk and just glanced at it and carried on. Still don't trust him with Evil Cat though so the window is staying covered – the end of a walk when he's a bit tired is one thing, full of energy and ready to go is quite another
Just pottering about today. I have two loads of clean washing to fold/hang and put away, a bit of hoovering, and some tidying up. How excitingI have last night's NCIS to watch so I'm looking forward to that, I need my weekly dose of Gibbs

Morning one and all. A beautiful start here after the wet and windy day we had yesterday. Hope JackieO feeling better this morning after the op and had a decent night's sleep.
A few jobs planned for today, including re-touching my roots (!) and feeding the pots in the garden. Also want to pop into town for some bits and pieces.
Tonight we are out for a meal to a lovely Italian restaurant in town to celebrate my baby's 40th birthday! DS's birthday was actually Tuesday but he wanted to leave the night out until today. Where have the 40 years gone! It doesn't seem 2 minutes since he was born - a whopping 9 lbs! It's just a meal for immediate family, he didn't want a big do which I was glad about.
Have a good day all and ((((((HUGS)))))) if you need one. Take care whatever you are up to xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Good morning all,
It is a lovely morning herr, the sun is shining and I have just put the washing out. Not much but with the weather being good thought i would keep on top of it.
I also hope Jackie had a restful night, as much as you can in hospital, and hope she had dreams of pretty lacy bras
We are popping up to see DD but before we go we have to fill up with petrol at Mr T
Lyn I hope you are having a great time with the Zebra child and that dear Docky is enjoying the attention.
Have a good day all

I love NCIS too and even managed to get DH to enjoy watching it with me over the last few months.
TA
Have a lovely celebration dinner for your son.
JackieO
Hope the operation has done all you hoped for and that the prettiest
bra ever comes your way.
Nice sunny day here and making DD a cooked breakfast before going into York on the bus (thank heavens for a bus pass) and treating another DD to the cinema and seeing San Andreas which looks exciting.
Have sea bass and roasted veg for tonight and might get a salad for lunch. No idea what to make tomorrow as I still feel odd about cooking a traditional dinner. Pity the MandS £10 offer is not still on as it was a really good deal.
Hugs to all."This site is addictive!"

Hi everyone,
It's a beautiful day here, I hope it stays that way for our trip to Norfolk. DD is here but her bf stayed in London last night, he wanted to play golf and have a drink with friends before "wasting a weekend on 'wedmin'" DD was not best pleased, especially as she has done virtually everything so far.
DS dropped DD off last night he had been down to pick his gf up from the office so he was able to give her a lift. They are both so happy since getting engaged it's lovely to see him so smiley because he has a tendency to be a bit Eeyorish.
I'd better go and get ready and pack, have a good weekend everyone.0 -
Morning everyone.
Sunny here, promised for all day and then awful again tomorrow so will change the bed linen and get it out on the line.
I'm feeling better at last so will get myself going. Might potter in the garden as I'm on a mission to remove all the dandelions. As the ground is wet they lift easier.
Who mentioned Jethro Leroy Gibbs? Did I miss it last night, I hope the recorder was programmed, thought the last series was on during the week and had finished. I took to the new female agent which I didn't expect too!
Right, must get myself up now.
Hope everyone has a good Saturday with assorted animals and families.0 -
Morning all,
Beautiful sunny day here wm is on with the first of three loads which I am trying to do quickly as the electric will have to go off later on while OH and I move the light switch to accommodate my new larder cupboards :j he is off at the boot sale atm and I have DD to drop at work but as soon as that's all done we will crack on.
So not a lot of OS today but I will have a quick tidy round this morning and that will probably be it for today.
Hope Jackie O is recovering well xx
Have good days all xx0 -
Mornin'
It feels a bit chilly this morning. Washing on line. DS2 gone to work. DH stood outside chatting. Both blokes are off fishing overnight later so I get the TV
Need to get a few bits in Aldi and I might venture back to my dads to hack down some more of his jungle like bits of the garden.
Hope JackieO is recovering well. TA - enjoy your meal.
Happy Saturday all0
