Hello all,
Thanks for your help previously. I sent my appeal off which obviously got rejected. So my next stage for this particular company is to appeal to IAS which there seem to be mixed opinions on these forums about doing so, some seem to say worth it, some say now. My other option if I don't bother with IAS is to go straight to ignoring the debt collections stage or simply pay the fine whilst still £60 and now £100.
My only grounds for appeal is that the charge is extortionate when related to the offence, in all honesty what do people think my chances are at getting this scrapped?
I'm happy to put the time and effort into fighting it but should I just cut my losses? Am I just delaying the inevitable?0 -

This was not, is not, nor never will be, a FINE. You don't HAVE to pay them anything.
Whether or not to do an IAS appeal is your choice. You haven't defined which PPC this is (as far as I can see with a quick scan) so we can't advise on likely consequences of ignoring.0 -
Sorry, its company called UKCPS Car parking solutions.
I've had a look for a template or advise on wordingfor an IAS appeal but I couldn't find anything, is there anything like that in existence to start me off?0 -

NO - because it's pointless - do not give ukcps a win at the IAS. Why do you think there's no template and why do you think the NEWBIES advice thread tells you NOT to use IAS as it's a kangaroo court? Because we don't want Newbies to fail at IAS (everyone does, it's worse than useless). better not to do that stage at all, honestly.
Complain to the retail park by this weekend because UKCPS rad forums, they can see your real name if that's your username (not a good plan if so) and you've spelt out everything in your first post - EDIT IT!
I repeat - complain to the retail park and retailer managers. If you do sometimes use their store say so and show them a receipt or bank transaction and the offending PCN and ask if they can cancel it. DO NOT say what you were dong that day, just go and tell them you are narked about this PCN and want it cancelled please.
Forget the IAS. Yes UKCPS occasionally sue but I've never seen them do so about an overstay. A pretty daft car park to choose though, with UKCPS in it. I saw one near me the other day with UKCPS signs up so I now boycott that store, can't be bothered with IPC member firms and their lack of independent and transparent appeal process.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

That's the spirit !
CM feeling need to vent some feelings here :-) and echoed and known throughout by many posters and regulars. As I have also previously mentioned the only thing independent about the IPC appeals process is contained within the name.....
On the other hand
PRO - it costs the PPC to go to the IAS -
Con - the money lines the pockets of happyrocks...
PRO- It can be looked upon favourably to engage with the appeals process.
CON - don't spend a lot of time researching and you need to upload everything all in one go
PRO- a small number of appeals are upheld for bizarre reasons also... (just to keep the status quo of appeals)
CON - you will probably get a rejection - but do get to see operator evidence -
nb you are supposed to agree to confidentiality before seeing operator evidence ....
Bizarre adjudications have stated that the "independent assessor" has seen material evidence which cannot possibly be the case - oh dearie dearie me.0
