asus H81 motherboard , presently running a G 3420 but will be upgraded at a later point in time.

latest drivers installed however I keep getting a bit of lag and strain , when I connect the hdmi cable and double up to the TV as well.

machine is NOT used for gaming of any sort

running win 8.1 64 bit with 8g memory

card needs to be std VGA output + HDMI , and run silently

I normally just reload for friends , but don,t buy stuff , gets confusing out there ,

Assuming full height cards fit, £28

What sort of lag/strain? Even a low end pentium like that should cope with media playback and browsing flawlessly, mines a g3258 with a bit of an overclock on a h81 and thats never struggled

thanks , the budget will go over that price , the lag is there when the extra monitor is plugged in and active , and I end up , for example by scrolling quickly on the PC and getting large blocks (half page) of black

I think the graphics are HD4400 , and that runs at about 300 meg? , I would like to get a card that will exceed the 4600? that is used in the i3 and i5 CPUs

however , a quick relook at the card you suggest seems to exceed the power/speed of the currant one

What do you call budget? Just been looking for a video card and found lots of reviews of budget cards, but to me £200+ is not a budget card.

GTX750, Its quite good, Runs nice and cool so should overclock well also.

What i like is that it will run 4 screens at once.

I'd hardly recommend a 750GTX for someone on a budget who does no gaming whatsoever!

You mentioned 'lag/strain/large blocks of black' on your second monitor, but in your first post you say the pc is connected to a TV as a secondary screen?
Not all TVs cope well as monitors, this could be the problem.

    Which make/model do you have?

    its a Tesco special , techwood ,

I also own a NUC , with openelec on it it works fine streaming or viewing onboard films , also a sum micro 4 that works well

the only time I connect the tv as a second monitor is for the odd you tube or catchup
