Lloyds mobile phone insurance

Has anybody any experience of claiming for damage to mobile phone from Lloyds Insurance?
Son has dropped his phone and screen and back are broken, put in a claim with Lloyds and they will charge me £100 excess, but I am sure I could get it fixed for less than £100. How likely is it that they will just repair the phone and not replace it?

They'll repair or refurb, whichever is more economic-you won't get a new for old replacement, if that is what you are hoping. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

I was hoping for a new one yes. Given that the excess is £100, I will repair it myself rather than go through Lloyds.
Can I cancel the claim?0 -

Received an e-mail saying it would be repaired, so called them and cancelled the claim. Hopefully will not need to claim again on this policy.0

Most insurers tend to work that way. Repairing if it can be repaired, if not then they will replace.0
