Thanks -taff. Does that mean from the first date of the default or the date that it was settled?

I've learnt some interesting stuff here and it's made me rethink a few things.

I don't think I will "poke the bear" and put in a claim for settled accounts but just look at accounts that were fully settled.

The date of default. But the date of default/statue barred doesn't apply if you continue to make payments to someone or acknowledge the debt in any way.

A quick update on my PPI claim.

It couldn't have been easier. I rang MBNA who told me that I had PPI on an old account, they sent me a form to fill out, followed by a phone call 2 weeks later.

The following week they sent a letter saying that they would send a check for £1000.14 in 28 days!

Couldn't have been easier and I didn't even know that I had PPI, so it was definitely worth that phone call.

Capital One have dealt with my claim on the phone and are sending me a cheque for £886.55!
