in Credit cards
Have a Barclaycard which I pay off each month spot on time
Due to my typo this month, my bank stopped the payment of £7000 to Barclaycard due to lack of funds, payment should have been £700 !.
Now find that card is being declined !
When bill come in it tells my my account has been suspended and tells me I have broken the credit agreement !
I've never not paid before ( have underpaid before due to a similar typo), but surprised that the bar comes down so quickly !!
I'm a long term customer paying off full amount ( normally between £1k -£2k ) each month
1st time I've missed payment, and they cut me off right away
Of course it was my original error which started this, but is it the norm that your account is suspended immediately in such cases ?
I was minded to change card provider, but no point if thats how they all work

It is pretty standard for Credit Cards to suspend an account if the minimum had not been received. In your case the minimum was probably something like £10. The CC will have to presume that the inability to pay is based on financial difficulties and the first sign of a financial meltdown.bob_a_builder wrote: »Now find that card is being declined !

Most CC have a timespan of maybe 5 days between the payment-due-date and the statement date. Take another 3 days until you receive your statement in the mail, that means you payment was unsuccessful about a week ago. You must have known about that, but failed to put the account in order. A 'Faster Payment' would have rectified the problem instantly.
The account might only have been suspended on the day your statement was being produced.0 -
that means you payment was unsuccessful about a week ago
OK - if its standard procedure - I'll have to live with it

Talk to them, if you don't they will assume the worst0

Made the full payment for last month and this month (early) by Faster Payment bank transfer on Friday evening.
Card still being declined during Monday !
When I phone tonight am told payments aren't accepted/credited over the weekend !
In this day and age ?0 -
maybe consider setting up a direct debit at least for the minimum amount0
