Why do charity shops seem to have so few books?

    You can't ever accuse charity shops of selling books at REASONABLE prices coz they don't.

    But they did several years ago, especially in the shops run by smaller charities.

    I understand that Oxfam check (or at one time checked) eBay prices
    and then price(d) their stock accordingly. You are unlikely to get a bargain there, but I have found some interesting rare books, except when they have their post Xmas 50p sale. Their out of date (rather than historic) OS maps are definitely overpriced.
    If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales
