Hi I need some advice I recently received an offer from Lloyds after 3 years with the FOS,I had a £2,122 Ppi In 2002 they came with an offer of £1.831 I had the loan for 10 months back then and I paid it off.
They have calculated my offer:
Appendix B
Original Ppi £2,122.38
10 payments made
Interest applied £223.46 to premium
Total £2,346
Then at the bottom appendix J minus- £1,364 for a claim? Which I have never made.
Ppi is now £982
Minus-£212 tax
8% interest £1,061.57
Total £1831.37 offer so I asked for a breakdown about the £1,364 they have taken off but they keep hanging up on me on this number 0800 151 0292 & telling me to ring this number 0800 092 2290 and they keep saying ring the first number,it happens when I give my details they say they are looking in to this then cut me off,I must have phoned 10 ten times the last person I spoke to said he was looking in to it then all of a sudden he said do you need any other help I said no just the breakdown he said ok,bye and like all of them hung up.
I'm not sure what to do it took me 3 years to get to this Ppi complaint I can wait abit longer all I want is the breakdown is there any others number I can ring I would love some advice.

Maybe it is the rebate as you repaid the loan early.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. I doubt Lloyds will state claim if the loan was paid off early.
Write a letter to them stating that you have never made a claim and ask them to give you details of this alleged claim.0 -
It is logical the PPI would be reduced on settlement as the loan only ran for 10 months, you only get PPI back that you actually paid.
When you settle a loan early, a rebate of PPI is applied for the unused PPI.
I would imagine the "claim amount" would be the rebate for the loan only running 10 months.
The op needs to check what was paid back at settlement.
They should get the whole PPI back, less the rebated figure plus the 8%.
Original PPI £2,346
Minus tax £212 = £2,134
minus the rebate £1,364 = £770 this, plus the tax £212
= total redress £982 this looks right for PPI paid for 10 months.
Add the 8% £1,061.57 = £2,043.57 total redress.
Not bad for a total PPI of £2346 that was not repaid in full.
If the op, is a non taxpayer or, the the interest amount does not take them over their tax code amount, they can reclaim the tax back.0
