An IAS refusal is as good as a free pass. The anonymous decision will be so partial and divorced from normal adjudication procedure as to be worthless.

No PPC would risk such a document being shown to a judge.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.
  • I have also received a letter from g24 with the exact same charges. I was advised to park in Wickes car park when visiting my friend and children at a day care pool park. I saw some signs when entering the car park - however writing was so small, I also noticed a dodgy lookin man with his phone wandering around and watching me. So I got out if my car and went to read the small print on the sign - realised I couldn't park there so got back in my car and left. At one point the man stood directly in front of my car aiming his phone at me. About a week later I received a letter from g24 stating the fine.
They have photos of my car - of which only have a 13 second time difference!! And you can see my hand on the steering wheel in the second picture.

I appealed agains the fine - which was unsuccessful - g24 referred me to IAS of which i appealed stating the IPC Accredited operator code of practice - noting that point 17.1 states that drivers should be allowed sufficient amount of time in order to park and read Any signs in order that they make an informed decision as to whether or not to remain on the site before any enforcement action is taken.

IAS refused my appeal!! Ridiculous .

I have now had a letter from DRP demanding payment of an unpaid parking fine.

I have read so many of the forums about what to do next - it talks about ignoring the letters etc but it also mentions going to POPLA. However I am now past the 28 days - however I have never been advised by g24 to go to popla and have never been given a popla code.

Please can someone advise me what to do next - I hate having the hanging over me and if I had actually parked there for too long or broke the code then I wouldn't actually mind paying. However the man watched me leave!!

Would the next course of action be to write to g24 asking for a POPLA code??

Please can some one help advice me.

    Thank you

They may be reluctant to try court now you have that IAS appeal rejection, which as you say is ridiculous, until I inform you that the IPC/IAS is actually just a sham trade body set up to enable the more unscrupulous parking companies (they're all pretty much unscrupulous, but these are the real bottom feeders) get Registered Keeper data from the DVLA without having to uphold any professional values.

Read the Sticky thread for NEWBIES then start your own thread if you need further information, not hijack someone else's.
The answer to all your questions are in the aforementioned NEWBIES thread.

Basically, if in Scotland or NI, ignore anything and everything.

In England or Wales, appeal to PPC then appeal to PoPLA or, appeal to/or ignore IPC. Win appeal to PoPLA or ignore loss to IPC.

Always ignore debt collectors. Never reveal who was driving unless the vehicle was a hire/lease vehicle.

Just read my post number 8 and now combine it with you experience - just shows what a criminal scumbag Adrian King really is. Strangely he refuses to speak or email me and they have never sued me for saying these things .... because I can prove them ! Just ignore G24 from now on.

You should complain to your MP and the government that the IPC is a sham organisation with a fake appeals process.

Ask why the IPC still have ATA status.

  • I am collecting bizarre IAS appeal results where the assessor incompetently fails to apply the law correctly, or show clear bias towards the parking company. This decision seems to fit both categories.

If you want me to blog this, please email me a copy of your appeal and the appeal results to prankster@parking-prankster.com

    Quick update

The debt recovery firm have now sent me a reduced payment offer of £128 to avoid court proceedings, they are advising me to comply with this "pre action protocol".

I await their next letter reducing the payment even more, or maybe court proceedings?!

The subsequent letters may have roller-coaster amounts. Court won't happen - period.

The DC can't take you to court; G24 don't have the mental capacity to be able to do so. ;)
