Sorry if this sounds a bit thick but is there a website that can tell me which way my aerial should be pointing for the best picture? I have an aerial in the loft which was nudged accidentally when someone was up there. Immediate neighbours have theirs in loft, so can't locate it that way. (or am I being stupid??)

Put in your postcode, it will tell you location of transmitter and direction to point aerial...0 -
Why not just go up in the loft, get someone to watch the TV while you have a twiddle to get the best picture.;)0

And don't forget the vertical/horizontal position is also required depending on the transmitter.0

If you have Freeview move it a little and get them to watch the signal strength on the now and next bar. Leave it a few seconds each time before checking.
If you have only analogue , to reduce the subjectivity in your twiddle, turn it all the way to the right until they say the picture dissapears and mark the angle. Then turn it back to where it is now. Then turn it all the way to the left until they say the picturel disappears and mark the angle. Then turn the it to halfway between the two marks, and tighten it up.0 -
Put your postcode in on of the following sites and it's give you all the info you need including compass baring:-
