Hospital staff parking fines

Options
Hello everyone- hope you can advise!! My son has been working For the Salisbury district nhs foundation since October and pays his parking on a monthly basis. (Salisbury District Hospital). However, since starting, he has been issued with 4 parking fines because he had nowhere to park. He panicked and paid for the first 3 because the hospital said it was nothing to do with them but after doing some research and watching Watchdog last night, I note these private eye companies cannot legally enforce these charges. He has had a letter again from debt recovery demanding payment of £150 by 2nd June else court action will be taken against him. After being issued with a private eye notice at Southampton leisure world (as a leisure world customer...signs are very misleading), and appealing, the fine was wavered. Just thought I'd mention that also!! Some advice would be brilliant so thanking you in advance!!!

the debt recovery companies cannot enforce anything at all, they have no powers

you mention that private parking companies cannot enforce these charges ?

where did you get that idea from ? I too watched watchdog last night and DOM this morning and nowhere did they say this

they can and do take people to court and they can and do enforce some of these charges through the courts , ask Barry Beavis for starters !!

on bbc1 DOM this morning , parking prankster himself indicated there were over 34 thousand court claims last year !

the debt collectors can be ignored, see post #4 of the newbies sticky thread

in future, he or you or wheover gets a parking invoice should appeal it, the NEWBIES sticky threads tells you this and explains the procedures etc, even providing a template to use

the letter wont say WILL it will say MAY , all threats and bluster and bluff
