Ok so when I was young and stupid and they were throwing credit cards at me I got myself in a load of debt (£6k). This was around 2006-2007 and my last payments made on the accounts were in 2010. So after years of not being able to get credit for ANYTHING I thought, well, since my debts are probably due to drop off my report soon I'll see what I can do to start building it up. I have put in every address, alias etc etc given every tiny bit of information as I wanted it to be as accurate as possible and even though it's showing I have several delinquent accounts with £6k of unpaid debt outstanding I still have an Excellent credit score. This can't be right, especially since I still can't get credit for anything. What's going on???

It isn't meaningless, it should be showing how credit worthy you are even if lenders assess slightly differently, there's a BIG difference between a poor and excellent rating and I don't think mine should be excellent. I was more looking as to why Experian would have rated me like that with those debts.0

I would be happy to help, settled accounts will remain on your Experian Credit Report for six years from the settlement date, after this point they will be automatically removed your report.
I understand that you've added all of your previous information such as addresses, names etc to see a full and accurate credit report, so that we can take a look through your report with you to make sure that this is the case and there isn't missing information, could you please email your details (name/dob/address), this is so that we can reassure you everything is in order and what you are seeing is indeed correct.
Once we have checked this for you, we would be able to run through your credit report and explain what has impacted your credit score and see what has effected your recent credit applications.
Kind Regards

What matters is whats on your credit history, is it correct, are accounts that aren't yours showing.0
