POPLA Appeal refused - Advice please?

Hi,
To my shame, I didn't read the advice on here before getting to this stage, have just been recommended to try here. Wish I had sooner
Please could you advise me if I need to do anything further?
In February this year I parked outside a marked bay in a station car park, not causing any obstruction and paid for a ticket but then received a fine for £90. I appealed to POPLA, admitting my error but pleading mitigating circumstances (which I now realise was the wrong thing to do) and disputing the £90 as being extortionate. I wasn't hopeful of being successful and sure enough they rejected it yesterday. My simple question is, having read other posts - do I now just ignore any more correspondence? Being the sort of person who doesn't really stand up for herself, it makes me nervous! How likely are they to pursue me, since I was basically in the wrong?
Any advice gratefully received, thank you so much.

Important - who is the PPC? The next step will either be court or not depending on which PPC although there are likely to be lots of threatograms either way from toothless debt collectors.

MET or APCOA, possibly?
Railway stations have more complications than a standard PCN, but also more opportunities to achieving a successful conclusion.
If Byelaws are quoted, you're only a a few weeks of having this charge 'timed out' (6 months to pursue). Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

question to the OP ," I appealed to POPLA,"
did you appeal to the parking company first , they decline and then give you a code for POPLa
did you post/email the appeal directly to POPLa
it just seems that the time scales seem very tight
if you had rung/emailed the PPC directly after receiving the ticket , then it possible , however if you received a NTK in the req 29-56 days , then played "ping pong" mail resulting in a POPLa code + the 28 days to reply to POPLa , + the waiting for POPLa , it seems mighty tight to me ,
please can you name the PPC , state if the ticket was by ANPR or on your car , how long before you contacted them , and as the POPLa code is now used , please type out the popla code
unless I am mistaken , I think you may have only appealed to the PPC , and not POPLA , although I stand to be corrected0 -
Hi, thanks for the replies. The PPC was Meteor Parking and the ticket was left on my car. The ticket was issued on 11/2, I appealed to Meteor on 24/2 and they rejected it on 28/2 and sent me a POPLA code - 3910595204. I appealed to POPLA on 25/3 and they finally gave me a decision on 27/5.
Having seen Watchdog last night, it makes me wonder if they will bother pursuing me to court, since the company last night seemed to say that it didn't happen very often? Don't know whether I am brave enough to take the risk though!0 -
they have up to 6 years to try court, but are more inclined to set the debt collectors on you, with threatening letters in scary writing (toilet paper)
if you had come here before submitting your popla appeal, we could have had you word it to win, not lose, too late now though0 -
ok , thanks for replying
I might get shouted at by "the know alls"
there is a good chance that the land came under bylaw rules , and if you had not named yourself , they would have had to chase the driver , not the owner. and we could have timed it to exceed the 6 mths max to lay charges
having said that , expect a lot of "loo paper" from many different companies all threatening and saying "may" take you to court ,
if you get the last one , saying we "are" taking you tou court in "x" days if you don't pay , come back , however most (if not all) of the debt companies will keep using the words "may" "recommend" "might"
the debt collectors cannot take you to court , only the PPC , and the moment that they do "recommend" , and the PPC does start court action , they get nothing.0 -

Why would you get shouted at Freddy? And calling your fellow anti-PPC campaigners "know alls" is a bit harsh, don't you think?
Thought we had got past that when you came back on to offer advice, which is well received.0 -

because Bazster made this comment " but your torrent of half-baked "advice" is making this forum (and PePiPoo) unusable.
I give up.
I for one am fed up with having to spend all my time correcting your dangerous "advice" instead of helping people and I have better things to do, so goodbye.

and he "knows it all"
and evidently I know FA0 -
I have to say that Bazster knows more than most. I find his contributions insightful and highly informed. Knocking him with a 'know it all' tag not only fails to recognise his superb knowledge, but also exposes a distinct blindness to the major contributions he has made to this forum (and to PePiPoo if you recognise his nom-de-plume there).
He says what he means, he doesn't gratuitously stroke people's hair, it comes 'as it is - like it or lump it', but almost always on the nail.
We are all supposed to be on the same side here. Even Trev might be smiling at the 'spat'.Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

however my statement "I might get shouted at by "the know alls" is quite valid , no matter what your personal opinion is.

actually I thought his comments where outright rudeness
but our opinions differ , that is life0
