BBC 5 Live: Leaseholders overcharged by £1b a year by landlords & managing agents

A recent BBC 5 Live Investigates radio show reveals that leaseholders could be overcharged by as much as a staggering £1 Billion a year according to an industry professional.
Fraudulent billing resulting from "rigged bids" has been suggested by Sir Peter Bottomley, Con MP for Worthing West, who campaigns for and speaks on behalf of leaseholders (go to 38:40 for his brilliant interview).
An example described in the show by a resident in Lambeth, London, was for a contractor's initial estimate of £100,000 for a main entrance door to a block of flats.
Another example is that of a new handrail in Islington. The original bill was for an inflated £350, which should have been for less than £30.
