No card statements on Fridays

Hi, I've just been looking into which day of the month my credit card statement is actually issued.

It seems that my American Express statement is always issued on the 3rd of the month unless the 3rd is a Friday, in which case it is issued on Saturday the 4th of the month.

My Halifax Clarity statement is always issued on the 8th of the month unless the 8th is a Friday or a Saturday in which case the statement is issued on the Sunday 9th or 10th of the month.

Does anyone know of a reason for this?

Most lenders don't cycle statements every day. It allows them contingency days in the event of problems and some portfolios aren't big enough to need to run statements every day.
