Parking Ticket - in a company car

I received a parking ticket while parked in a retail park car park a few months ago. I did not display a ticket - however it was in the evening when all of the shops were closed and the car park was almost empty. I only parked there to cross the road, collect my daughter and then return after less than 10 minutes.
My employer has been forwarding me the correspondence as it has arrived and I have been ignoring it. The latest letter is from Zennith, threatening legal action.
My employer wants me to contact them to inform them that I am responsibile. Can I do this, and then continue to ignore any further correspondence?
I don't want to get into trouble from my employer obviously....but nor do I want to pay!

your employer needs to name you as keeper (to the actual PPC, not zenith - the debt collector) with a serviceable address
you will then get an NTK in the post from the PPC and should appeal it
the NEWBIES sticky thread tells you everything you need to know
do not contact the debt collectors0
