Family holiday next October - Help please :)

Hi all!

I need your help please! Me and the other half are arranging a holiday for his mum's big birthday, but we are struggling on places to go to. It will be October 2016, probably towards the end of the month.

There will be:

His mum and dad, and brother (room 1)
Me, him and child (room two)
His sister, brother in law and 2 kids - 4 and 1 ages (room 3).

So 10 altogether.

The problem I'm having is the destination. As I'm a wheelchair user (rules out hilly places as I take my manual wheeliebob on holiday), and his mum has cerebral palsy so can't walk too far. I'm looking for somewhere fairly flat, within Europe/canaries, but not Turkey. We do not want a city break.

Budget is flexible and the last thing I consider so any ideas are welcome!

We've recently been to Fuerteventura, Zante and Benalmedina/Mijas/Nerja/Malaga, so want to stay away from them if possible.

I'm just really stuck with where to go in October that isn't going to be dead, or full of hills or chavs. I dont mind the occasional chav, but nothing like Kavos :)

Thanks in advance!

Barcelona? Beautiful city but also has a beach and temperature should be ok. There's 3 tourist bus routes and can buy a 2 day hopper ticket so see most of the city. Any footy fans - barcelona Nou Camp is worth a visit. Gaudi stuff if interested in architecture (or just really cool buildings lol!). Food great, shopping ok...

Not too long on a plane either.

I would second what Alidolly has said, Barcelona ticks almost every box and is one of Europe's best cities.

    Have a great trip!

    Hi there :)

We are looking to go somewhere for two weeks for a holiday, not a city break.

Thank you for your suggestion, but she would absolutely hate being in a city, it isn't a holiday for her.

Costa Adeje in Tenerife is a nice family resort with a flat promenade running along the seafront.

Playa Blanca in Lanzarote is nice and the terrain is fairly flat too
Costa Teguise is also quite flat
Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.

I agree, Costa Adeje is lovely. Meloneras in Gran Canaria is quite similar, very flat and a sea front promenade.

I think from a weather perspective, Canary Islands are a good bet in October.

You could try asking for advice on the best flat location to suit you and the rest of the group on Tripadvisor.
