booking family holiday

Hi I was wondering if anyone could advise me at all please

Want to book a holiday for 4th July 7 nights 2 adults 1 child. Budget is £1500 at the most all inclusive.

Been looking at turkey dalaman and majorca

Now the problem is everything I've found is over budget or terrible flight times.

Never booked online before but want to this time hopefully cut the cost a little.

Is my budget too low?
Is there any websites I can compare prices on
Am I beat booking flight and hotel separately?

Thanks so much.
Proud mummy to 3 beautiful children who I love so so much :oxxxx

Baby girl due april 2016! cant wait to meet her. xxx

Jet2holidays have some great bargains - we booked a 7 night half board at a 4 star hotel in Cavtat near Dubrovnik for under £900...for 2 adults and 1 child for October. All inclusive was only about £150 more but we wanted the freedom of having our own lunches out and about. That was flying from a regional airport in Scotland as well.

Travel republic < great for booking flights- hotel and transfer as if you were booking a "Package" you can also search from different airport within the same search.

On the beach As above but i always find them a little bit more expensive.

sometimes it is actually cheaper to book the child as an adult- No under occupancy charges then. - I have booked my children as adult for our up coming holiday. Total cost for 4 "adults" for 15 nights in Turkey was £1,300 - booked as 2 adults 2 children it was £2,249 - go figure!!! Adult price was increased to cover the cost of the "discount" child place and then we were whacked with under occupancy x2.

Usually i use Skyscanner to find our flights- it can sometimes be cheaper to fly one airline outbound and another airline inbound. - Then use travel republic for hotel

Resorthoppa for transfers (Dalaman to marmaris return £9-£11 pp)

Last year i booked Turkey for £303 7 nights 2 adults - baggage, transfer, flight and hotel. I also booked Majorca for less than £300 - (return flight was £52! each!

i try and stay away from the likes of thomascook, thomsons, first choice, etc. Their prices are usually quite high (well someone has to pay for all those travel agents and the high street stores and glossy holiday brochures!!) - I have been booking on line for years now doing it all myself and saving a fortune in the meantime.

Which airport are you wanting to fly from?

Look at British Airways, you can book flights and a hotel (filter for AI, Half board etc). Being scheduled flights you may find that rather than 7 nights, 8 or 9 etc. may give you better flight times etc.

You'll need to arrange your own transfers but simply search for Mallorca transfers and take your pick.

Before booking with On the Beach Google them (and OTB)

    Some real horror stories.
Their flight prices are not live & lots of people report being told their flight prices have increased.

Shop around, booking holidays online is like anything, the more you shop around the better deal you will find. Like people mentioned above, do your research on the company before booking with them.

Have you thought about doing it independently? Separate bookings for flights and accommodation?

    Have a great holiday!

Further to my comments about On the Beach, here is a current thread about problems with using them:
