My girlfriend and I are travelling the world for several years in August. We are doing the trans Siberian railway followed by China, Japan, South East Asia and then Australia to begin with. I was looking for advice on best way to take money?
I have a Halifax clarity card which I have for overseas spending and possibly taking out cash?
Does anyone of experience?

One card is not enough.

You can use a card to get a cash advance over the counter in Thailand in order to avoid ATM fees.
Use Techcom Bank ATMs in Vietnam.
Do a little research on which ATMs you can use in Japan. Not all are for International usage.
Kalixa Pay is a good choice for a Prepaid card.
Travelex Supercard can be useful for where VISA is preferred.0
