UKCPS Parking Fine

Hello everyone,
At the beginning of the year I was issued with a UKCPS parking fine for parking opposite my workplace. The place I parked was next to an empty construction pit with fences around and I was parked in-between that and the hotel where everyone I work with was parked.
I got issued the ticket, told to ignore the invoice by several friends and now I've just received a letter stating, if I do not pay within a certain amount of time I will be taken to court. I have to pay £125 from £60 to £100.
Am I right in saying that these are scammers? Or are they a genuine regulated company?
Thanks.

1. Who sent you the letter threatening court?
2. If it goes to court, you need to ask your 'friends' if they will write your defence, as well as underwriting any costs awarded against you, as result of their rubbish 'ignore' advice!
UKCPS are one of the litigious PPCs, so do press your 'friends' who seem to have contributed to the position you find yourself in.Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

dunno about "regulated", this is an unregulated industry !!
but if they sent you an LBC then they are serious and you should treat it as serious , because regulated or not they do issue about 800 court claims a year
its an invoice, not a fine, so as an unpaid invoice they or the landowner have 6 years to take you to court under the small claims (MCOL)
see watchdog tomorrow night and dont get done get dom on friday morning , might get useful info
have a look at parking pranksters blogs too, especially the Beavis case with PE
also check the NEWBIES sticky thread, and the LBCCC thread in the crabman sticky thread0
