If you sell and go into rented accommodation then you are ready to pounce on the perfect house that comes up. You would then have the advantage of not being in any chain with a house to sell.
Not as easy as it sounds. As (a) you'll be tied into a lease. (b) a rental property has to be found that ticks all the boxes.
Given that houses may not change hands for decades. A few weeks is nothing.0
