A cautionary tale regarding Tax credits.

GF thought the request was for bank statements but this has actually been ‘greyed’ out. The request seems to be for payslips and proof of contract/working hours/employment etc.
I think you are reading too much into it. It sounds like they are questioning the income she claims to have received in 14/15 which doesn't match their record. Is she employed as PAYE and is her hours contracted?
It sounds like it has nothing to do with the money she is receiving from her friend but with her contracted pay.0 -
Hello,
Thanks FBaby.
GF always keeps Tax Credits information up to date/informs them of changes etc. so I think she was just surprised to receive this letter, particularly as she has already sent off her renewal pack.
Her hours are permanent and contracted, though she doesn't earn enough to pay tax. I don't think her income has risen drastically, apart from the slight annual increase to her hourly rate, and overtime is infrequent and minimal at best.0
