Just to let anybody know.....Do not give in if the Financial Ombudsman decision goes against you.
Mine has been going on for a good couple of years now.
I put in a PPI claim against Barclaycard, which the FO declined. I sent them a letter telling them a few home truths (not nasty but just stating a few facts) and low and behold I now have a cheque on it's way for £5000.
Maybe not what I was expecting but considering I wasn't getting a penny!!

Any rejection from the FOS (adjudicator) can be appealed to the Ombudsman - it will tell you this in a rejection letter.
Around 11% of decisions do get overturned (this, I believe, includes banks appealing as well - it works both ways)Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
