Stuck with Nepali Rupees

We were in Nepal on honeymoon in April, then the earthquake hit and we had to leave without much consideration or opportunity for everyday practicalities!

Now I realise that Nepali rupees are usually only bought back in Nepal and have nearly £100 worth left. We live/work in Surrey/London. Bills are becoming a bit tight so was hoping we had options to sell?

Thanks

Depending upon rules of these sites, could you not offer them for sale on either ebay or Gumtree?

this may sound daft but maybe a nepalese restaurant nearby will do you a favour

They could at least advise you of an exchange office that would take them. I am sure small independent bureaux in areas with high Asian population, such as Southall, will buy and sell NPR.

There's a large Nepalese population in the Aldershot area (ex-army Ghurka families etc) so I'd try there - Southall will be a waste of time.

Also Tunbridge Wells area I think there's quite a few, I was thinking of OP's London/Surrey area. I would just carry them with me and try any likely shop I came across.

You'll think your are in Nepal, albeit an upmarket bit of the country.
