Help with scalp

Hello everyone! For around 6 months now my scalp has started to split and scab over and it's starting to really effect my life with constant dandruff and itchiness. I have been to my doctor and they have prescribed me a numerous amount of medicated shampoos which just haven't worked. It seems like most of the Shampoos from Aussie and Aldi's own keep giving me a more irritable scalp.
Any suggestions will be a god send!

Have you tried T/gel therapeutic shampoo ( not the ordinary T gel one) - it works when my scalp psoriasis flares up0

none of the medicated stuff ever worked for me. best thing I ever did was start using Johnson's Baby Shampoo.0

I'd recommend tea tree, or possibly a no-scent organic shampoo like this one

Have a look at your diet as a deficiency in Vitamin B can sometimes be responsible for this."'Cause it's a bittersweet symphony, this life

My mum suffers from scalp psoriasis and and when it's flared up (scabby and itchy like yours sounds) the only thing that works is Betnovate scalp lotion on prescription from the GP. In between she keeps it at bay by using Selsun shampoo.

Is there something in the shampoo causing an allergic reaction? I know I do much better without SLS in my shampoo and you have to look pretty hard to find an SLS free shampoo. T gel is one of them though, so that might be worth a try.0

I have the same problem and now only use t-gel therapeutic shampoo. No problem for the last 15 years but t-gel anti dandruff destroyed my scalp in one go. Stick to the therapeutic one followed by conditioner. Good luck0

My hairdresser introduced me to this a couple of years ago when I was suffering with an itchy, seriously flaky scalp due to stress at work.

I absolutely love it - if there is a problem then my scalp tingles so I know it's working but I use it even when I think I'm fine because of how nice it makes my hair.
I even bought the horse his own bottle because he gets a scurfy tail which causes him to rub.0 -
OP you sound like you're describing dandruff. Not the cosmetic white dots on the shoulder type, but actual medicalised dandruff.
You may be able to get some advice on any medical products to try via your pharmacist or you could try your GP (Though I'd just try the pharmacist first to save time).
There are some products out there but there may be others which are only available OTC which could be worth trying.0
