As this PPP thread shows, somebody called CEL's bluff and took them to court to claim costs for a struck-out case that CEL had bought against them.:-
http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?s=&showtopic=93438&view=findpost&p=1078902
As you can see the OP, was on the ball and asked CEL's legal rep some awkward questions. Such as why Mr Shwartz failed to spot the misspelling of his name in those dozens of document he is supposed to have signed.
Note also the many dirty tricks that CEL employed, such as emailing at the very last minute and the non-existant voice-mails and letters.

They will also have to cough up other fees. They employed a para legal. That will cost too.0

It gets even better. Take a look at posts #45 & 46 on this CAG thread.:-

#46 shows a letter on CO-OP headed notepaper saying that CEL had authority to issue parking tickets and signed by a solicitor implying that the solicitor was writing on behalf of the CO-OP.
#45 says this:-
I have just had an interesting conversation with the Co - Op regarding this letter. Have to say they were very helpful. They confirmed the letter was not from them and not signed by their solicitor. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
I wonder if they will get the choice of a Scottish prison or an English one if they carry on like this?0

Not a member of CAG so can't read the letter, but if it's the Chris Jones letter the CAG poster has got the wrong end of the stick, Co-op is very much responsible for that letter.Je suis Charlie.0

I would suggest that co-op only provided the letter because their contract required them to. I haven't seen the contract but it would be common practice.Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0 -
I do not believe the letter he sent , until we (I) receive word that those cases are active
I do not believe a word the 2 faced coop say!

contract or ex contract , and with whom?

CREATIVE CAR PARK LTD 05571660
creative car parking LTD ?

The letter only states that CEL were authorised to issue tickets. And that's it.
That's probably true as well.
It doesn't say anything about their ability to issue court claims against ticket recipients, or anything about the Co-Op having visibility of, or agreeing to, an assignment of 86.5% of the debt to a company called DEAL.Je Suis Cecil.0
