Advice needed in regards to halifax reward account

Hi guys new to the forum
Trying to get my finances in shape, as Mr and the other half would like to buy a flat in the next couple of years
I applied for a halifax reward account in jan but was declined guessing it was because I have a bad credit file just wondering if I was to open a basic account with them and a savings account would it increase my chances of getting the reward account later on and if so how long would this take?

Hi Tictactoe have you thought about your other half (OH) opening what you require?

Its possible that other accounts may pass you for a current account, so you could try there.

i had that problem i opened an easycash account. once it was open i managed to do an online upgrade to the reward account not sure if you still can but there was a thread about it ages ago. Its now my main account so might be worth a shot?
