Hello,

I've an interview for the above post tomorrow. I'm brushing up on my interview techniques but has anyone any tips or potential questions that could come up?

Thanks

It depends on the elements of the project you'll be supporting really - and the size of the project, the level of support you'll be expected to provide.

On some projects an assistant could be running a work stream, on others it could be mostly acting as secretariat for stakeholder meetings, or monitoring the finance side of things.

The questions will likely relate to the key skills in the job ad. This article seems good at breaking down the areas:

    EDIT: Oh, and good luck!
That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.

Short interview less than 15 minutes and the last question Is was asked was "If we offered you £25 k would you accept - bit odd I thought.

Not odd, just testing you. Hope you get the job - if you want it.

    Very strange.

Depends if it is round 1 of several or the only interview for it.

For many project based jobs I've conducted/ had a very brief initial screening interview, often by phone, and then the normal 45-60min affair afterwards.

If interviewers mention salary during interviews it is always a great thing as they clearly are considering you in a serious manner. Most interviewers don't bother with getting necessary information from candidates they already decided won't contact again.

Don't keep us all in suspense - how did you answer the question?

Coming out of the blue it must have come as a bit of a curve ball. After thinking about the question my reply - without the pressure of the real world situation - would be along the lines of "I would certainly give it very serious consideration", nicely non-commital and ambiguous.:)

Guess it depends on a) what the job advert said about wage and b) what the OP's target was.

If they were hoping for £20k then being offered £25k isnt much of curve ball.

    That was my response.

I know there were only five others interviewed for this role but this question threw me completely. It was very much a case of several fixed questions, I asked one question at the end and then the interview closed. The second HR interviewer asked would you accept £25k if offered the role? The main interviewer came back with "meant to ask, "why are you changing sectors"? The main interviewer then queried about my current notice period.

Briefly - what qualifications and experience do you have?
    i.e. PRINCE2, IIBA, PMI
And are you north or south in the country?

I've been a Business Analyst for sometime now however work very closely with PM's myself, I could give you an idea of what salary you should be looking at.

Also I can let you know if there are other qualifications that the colleagues here have which they'd recommend or should have on you C.V
