Semi-Detached Buildings Insurance _Liability

Hi,

Apologies if this question has been asked before, cannot see an answer so far. The Question is when you take out a "Buildings Only" insurance policy say, and the question of Re-Build comes up, when using online price comparison sites should you include for the cost of Re-Building for next door?

The scenario in my mind is of a fire that destroys both houses as a result of fire in your own residence.

In other words will my insurance be liable for both homes?, I would have thought so. What if next doors were not insured?

Look forward to some expert opinions please.

No, if you were liable for damage to next door then it would be covered by the Third Party Liability section which is normally a few million of coverage.

The rebuild cost is purely for your property

You will only be liable for next door if you are proved to have been negligent.

If they have no insurance and the house is burnt down then it will be tough on them!

You don't need to concern yourself with insuring their home.

If you are negligent then your insurance will cover it under your liability to third parties cover
