Mobile -can't switch off voice on maps

I can't seen to switch off some Voice instructions on Maps app on my Samsung mobile.

When I click on the map, it says one of following

No further intersection.
Currently at abc road
Finding intersection

I have tried switching off mobile, looking for option that might be causing this.

How do I switch these off ?

Just turn the volume down. On my phone, the volume setting seems to be related to the app you're using (so turning down the volume in the app doesn't affect the volume of other apps or the ring tone, etc.).

Which maps app are you using? Google Maps? Here Maps?

Turning volume down, did not turn it down on this app.

It's the maps app that came with phone, think it's Google maps, has g on icon.


I found what problem was, it was a thing called Intersection Explorer in Settings=>Labs.

It had somehow got enabled.

You (or someone) must have downloaded the App as I don't believe it comes as standard with Maps, I can't find any reference to it on my phone.
