Hello.
I have received a letter - 'before county court claim' about a parking notice issues last year for a car that i sold the year before.

I have ignored the letters so far as it is obviously nothing to do with me, but i have had previous parking notices from Parking eye for the same vehicle when i did own it, which i also ignored.

So my question is - if i contact them and say i no linger own the vehicle - which i can prove as it was sold part exchange to a major car supermarket, will they then pursue me for the older charges that were mine - or would i be best to just carry on ignoring it all ??

Advice most welcome :)

well 2 things could be going on here

1: they are using your old info , without checking again with the DVLA

2: the car could still be in your name

a quick check on Askmid should show if the car is presently insured (presumably yours ran out or was cancelled?) further checks can be done to see if its taxed and MOTed (old tax must have run out?)

you do need to be careful that in fact the charge is not for when you actually owned the car

    Thank you for the reply.

I have read the letter incorrectly.

The date i looked as it stated to be ' on 15 sep 2014 we notified you as the registered keeper ......of parking on 13th July 2013- which is when yes i did own the car..

Have you any advice on what to do ?

I got confused because i didnt own the car on 15, sep 2014, but did on the original date of the offence.

Read the sticky thread for NEWBIES especially the section about court. Have a look at the Parking-Prankster's blogspot as he does a very cheap court guide.

Your mistake was ignoring this in the first place. However, if the first you heard about about the parking event from 2013 was in 2014, you should write or email to parking lie and tell them that keeper liability does not apply as their NTK is non POFA 2012 complaint as well as the other points in the NEWBIES appeal template.

Info and acronyms explained in said NEWBIES thread.
