Existing Barclaycard holder transfer offers

Options
Hi,

Barclay-card keep sending me an offer to transfer any balances to my card, at the rate of 6.9% for the life of the balance. This seams rather high, has anyone been offered anything lower? I'm not due to do any transfers just yet (my current 0% doesn't run out until October) but I'm just wondering if there is no chance of being offered a 0% on this, whether I might as well just close the card.
26/05/2018 = I DID IT! I am DEBT FREE!
Debts repaid since 06/02/2015 = £23,079
Mortgage...forever!!!! - But who cares, when all I've ever wanted is my own place!:j

No harm in asking (make it clear that without it you would close the card), but long 0% periods tend to be introductory offers, so you are probably going to be better off applying for a new card closer to October.

You can apply for a second Barclaycard whilst the other is still open if they have the best card for the job when it's time to apply.

I get offers every month including super transfers into my bank account.
The balance transfers are up to 18 months and can range from 1.6 to 2.9 percent. With super transfers usually up to 9 months but on occasion have gone longer.

    All the above at 0%.

Also have on occasionsreceived the 6.9 percent.

So the 1.6-2.9% is the transfer fee? Sounds pretty decent if the length is long enough for OP.

They've never offered me any of those though so I'm obviously not on their preferred list :rotfl:

I similarly get monthly offers of 0% with varying transfer fees but most are 2.9%

Actually, in practice is normally 3 or more letters a month I am getting offering the same so a little wasteful to say the least

A second card? Is that a normal thing! 2 have two cards with one provider? I always thought that would be a no?

Depends on the provider, some are happy to give you more than one, some aren't.

Barclaycard are one that are more than happy to give you more - I had 4 until last Thursday!

Most providers are fine but you cannot use a BT offer to transfer between cards by the same issuer.

Personally have a BC Premier card, got so the Mrs could use Premier benefits without having to be named on my current account and a BC Hilton Hhonors card which was gotten for the signup reward of points.

I used to only get the 6.9% BT offers from my Barclaycard.
don't really know what changed but now I get the same offers like the above posters get.
