MET Parking Services - Parking Charge Notice - Solihull Train Station

Options
Good Morning,

I'm hoping someone may be able to offer some advice to me as i have read some of the threads and I am a bit unsure as to what my next step may be.

I got a Parking Charge Notice from MET Parking Services on 18th May 2015, when I parked at Solihull Train Station to travel down to London. I do this regularly with work, and always use the RingGo app on my phone to book it, as I can then extend the booking if I am required to stay longer in London.

However, this time it seems as though the booking hasn't been made, despite doing it exactly the same way I do every time (extending an expired session).

I have loads of emails with confirmations of previous bookings when I have parked there, however, due to no fault of my won this time, I have been hit with this notice and need to articulate to them that there was an error with their process (RingGo).

What would be the next best course of action for me to dispute this, as I have seen some responses on the threads that have appealed direct to the company and some that say don't do this as a first instance.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Tom

Windscreen ticket? If so wait for the Notice to Keeper to come through the post - between day 29 and 56 after the parking incident.

While waiting for that, gen up on how to handle it from there, by:

    1. Read thoroughly the NEWBIES FAQ sticky - take your time to digest it.
    2. Use the forum search engine for 'MET Railway station' or 'APCOA Railway station' (another PPC) or just 'Railway station'. Read all you can on these searches as things can get confused (deliberately by the PPC) between a Parking Charge Notice under POFA 2012 and a Penalty Charge Notice under Railway Byelaws.

Meantime NO contact with the PPC, and at any time never reveal who the driver on the day might have been - you'll need to adjust your opening post!

  • Hi UmKomaas,

As you stated the Notice to Keeper arrived.

I still feel that this issue should be the fault of the app that I use regularly and have done since this incident. what would my next steps be to contest this?

    Thanks

What conclusions did you come to from following advice given in 1 and 2 in my previous post (above)?
